Originally from Lausanne, Switzerland, Lionel enters his third season with OHIO Hockey as Head Coach. He earned his master's degree in Coaching Education at Ohio University. Under his leadership, the Bobcats ended the 2022-2023 eason as the number two ranked team in the country, posting a team season record of 30 wins and 6 losses, won the CSCHL regular season and made a trip to the league's final four. Lionel was awarded the 2023 CSCHL Coach of the Year and the 2023 American Collegiate Hockey Association Coach of the Year.  Prior to his coaching career, Lionel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Curry College in Massachusetts. During his stint there, Lionel was a three time All American All-Academic scholar and a team captain. He previously played professionally with the Jacksonville Icemen in the ECHL, the Knoxville Ice Bears in the Southern Professional Hockey League, as well as Lausanne Hockey Club in the Swiss League.
